Lattice Boltzmann Modeling of a Sessile and a Body Force-Driven Sliding Droplet over a Grooved Surface

This work presents the numerical modeling of a droplet’s sessile and dynamic behavior on grooved surface. A droplet is placed horizontal vertical sliding conditions to observe its under wettable non-wettable conditions. The analysis uses multicomponent multiphase Shan-Chen Lattice Boltzmann Model (SC-LBM). Cassie–Baxter Wenzel states are reproduced for condition, enhancement contact angle appreciated action grooved-ridged analyzed through Bond number by varying ratio between body force surface tension number. For wettability conditions, critical was discovered above which will continue deform indefinitely. model proved suitability predict gradual deformation over subject tangential until eventually reaches condition or breakup.
